What is Community Service?

  • Community service is completed at any NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION such as a school, church, library, boys and girls club, homeless shelters, food banks, animal shelters, etc.

Community service is not working for a private business or a single family/person (babysitting is NOT community service).

You may not get paid for community service (with money or with grades).

Community service must be recorded on the AVID Community Service Log.
