PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE / MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA
Dear Simpson Seahawk Family,
We are now in the third and final trimester of the school year! This is an exciting time as we approach the final stretch of the year.
Currently, we are administering the ELPAC Summative Assessment to our English Learner students. Additionally, the CAASPP Testing for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will begin at the end of April and continue into May of 2025. Please be on the lookout for our testing schedule so that you can know when your 3rd-5th grade students will be taking their tests.
Please continue to ask your students every day if they have "Landed Their Helicopter." This means that they met their daily goal on Math Basecamp. Also, make sure they have passed their two weekly lessons in Reading and Math on iReady—this is our school-wide goal. Don’t forget to check their Accelerated Reader progress as well. It's important that they are earning their certificates of progress and moving up in their reading levels.

¡Ya estamos en el tercer y último trimestre del año escolar! Este es un momento emocionante mientras nos acercamos a la recta final del año.
Actualmente, estamos administrando la Evaluación Summativa del ELPAC a nuestros estudiantes de inglés. Además, las pruebas CAASPP para los estudiantes de 3º, 4º y 5º grado comenzarán a finales de abril y continuarán hasta mayo de 2025. Estén atentos a nuestro horario de exámenes para saber cuándo estarán tomando las pruebas los estudiantes de 3º a 5º grado.
Por favor, sigan preguntando a sus estudiantes todos los días si han "Aterrizado su Helicóptero." Esto significa que han alcanzado su meta diaria en Math Basecamp. Además, asegúrense de que hayan aprobado sus dos lecciones semanales de Lectura y Matemáticas en iReady; esa es nuestra meta escolar. No olviden revisar su progreso en Accelerated Reader. Es importante que estén obteniendo sus certificados de progreso y avanzando en sus niveles de lectura.

What is the Dual Language Immersion Program?
The dual language immersion program is a form of education in which students learn content and develop literacy in two languages. The Dual Language Immersion Program in the Rialto Unified School District will provide instruction in English and Spanish.
Who can be a part of Dual Language Immersion?
* Students who begin Kindergarten in August 2024
* Native English speakers, native Spanish speakers or bilingual students
* Kindergarten enrollees from all areas of the Rialto Unified School District
What are the benefits of the Dual Language Immersion Program?
Current research shows that learning a second language can benefit students in the following ways:
* Accelerate academic success
* Enhance communication skills
* Develop an appreciation for diversity
* Gain future personal benefits such as enhanced career, business, and travel opportunities
