Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well and filled with anticipation for the upcoming academic year at Dollahan Elementary School! It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to each of you as we embark on the journey of the 2024-2025 school year.
Allow me to introduce myself - I am Mrs. Elizabeth Alegre-Punchur, the newly appointed principal of Dollahan Elementary School. With a diverse background in education, including roles as a Teacher, Instructional Strategist, Program Specialist, and Assistant Principal within the esteemed Rialto Unified School District, I bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for our students. Dollahan Elementary holds a special place in my heart, and I am dedicated to upholding the values of leadership, curiosity, and lasting memories that define this remarkable institution.
As we prepare for a new school year, some procedures will be implemented. I can assure you that the Dollahan staff is committed to providing an outstanding learning experience for your child as well as caring for your student’s social and emotional well-being. Safety is also a top priority for our community so we will continue to adjust as it is necessary. Your support is greatly appreciated as we continue to help guide our students through their academic journey. Below are some reminders for this school year beginning on Monday, August 5, 2024:
- Find out your student’s teacher on Parentvue after 4pm today, August 2, 2024.
- Student drop-off will begin at 7:30 am. Gates will open at that time in order to ensure students are safe and under staff supervision.
- Please be prompt at the start of the day and at dismissal time.
- Students will continue to receive breakfast in the classroom this year.
- We strongly encourage that you send your student with a labeled and refillable water bottle. There are several water dispensing stations throughout our campus., both inside and outside of the classrooms.
- Volunteer paperwork must be completed each new year. These packets are available in the office.
- During Student Pick up, gates will remain closed to ensure the safety of our students. Please park on the outside of the school and walk to pick up your children. We will let handicapped families and buses in through the gate.
- We will not be changing student classes for the first 30 days as we want our students and teachers to build relationships quickly to enhance a positive learning experience.
The Dollahan Family is excited to partner with you and your students to make this year memorable. We are going to be “The lighthouse that illuminates a path to success.”
Should you have any questions, suggestions, or simply wish to connect, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at (909) 820-7943 or via email at ealegre@rialtousd.org. I am looking forward to meeting each of you in person and working together to create a nurturing and supportive educational community at Dollahan Elementary School.
With warm regards and best wishes,
Mrs. Elizabeth Alegre-Punchur
Principal
