PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE / MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA
Dear Simpson School Families,
As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support and partnership. The energy and commitment our students, staff, and families bring to our school community are truly inspiring. It is because of your collective efforts that we are able to foster an environment where our students can thrive and grow.
As we head into Fall Break and Winter Break, I encourage you to take time to relax and enjoy these special moments with your family and loved ones. These breaks are a wonderful opportunity to recharge and reflect. While enjoying this time, I also want to remind our students to continue their learning journey. Please encourage them to keep reading for Accelerated Reader and practicing math fact fluency on Math Basecamp. This practice will help them stay sharp and ready for the learning that lies ahead.
Our school-wide theme this year is Dive Into Discovery, and we remain focused on building the essential skills that will prepare our students for the future. Literacy, numeracy, and future readiness are at the core of everything we do. As we continue to make progress in these areas, we’re excited about the upcoming opportunities for our students to showcase their learning.
Some important dates to remember as we approach the end of the year:

Our Family Resource Center Parent Workshops will continue to offer valuable support.

Science Projects are due in January, and we’re looking forward to our upcoming STEAM Night, where we will highlight the exciting world of math and science.

Estimadas familias de la Escuela Simpson,
A medida que nos acercamos a la temporada navideña, quiero tomar un momento para expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento por su continuo apoyo y colaboración. La energía y el compromiso que nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias aportan a nuestra comunidad escolar son verdaderamente inspiradores. Es gracias a los esfuerzos colectivos de todos ustedes que podemos crear un ambiente en el que nuestros estudiantes puedan prosperar y crecer.
Al acercarnos al descanso de otoño y el descanso de invierno, les animo a que aprovechen para relajarse y disfrutar de estos momentos especiales con sus seres queridos. Estos descansos son una excelente oportunidad para recargar energías y reflexionar. Sin embargo, también quiero recordarles a nuestros estudiantes que sigan con su viaje de aprendizaje. Por favor, anímelos a seguir leyendo para Accelerated Reader y practicando la fluidez en hechos matemáticos en Math Basecamp. Esta práctica les ayudará a mantenerse concentrados y listos para el aprendizaje que está por venir.
Nuestro tema escolar este año es Sumérgete en el Descubrimiento, y seguimos enfocados en construir las habilidades esenciales que prepararán a nuestros estudiantes para el futuro. La alfabetización, la numeración y la preparación para el futuro son el corazón de todo lo que hacemos. A medida que avanzamos en estas áreas, estamos emocionados por las próximas oportunidades para que nuestros estudiantes muestren su aprendizaje.

Dual Language is a form of education in which students learn content and develop literacy in two languages. Research shows that learning a second language at a young age can benefit students in many ways.

What is the Dual Language Immersion Program?
The dual language immersion program is a form of education in which students learn content and develop literacy in two languages. The Dual Language Immersion Program in the Rialto Unified School District will provide instruction in English and Spanish.
Who can be a part of Dual Language Immersion?
* Students who begin Kindergarten in August 2024
* Native English speakers, native Spanish speakers or bilingual students
* Kindergarten enrollees from all areas of the Rialto Unified School District
What are the benefits of the Dual Language Immersion Program?
Current research shows that learning a second language can benefit students in the following ways:
* Accelerate academic success
* Enhance communication skills
* Develop an appreciation for diversity
* Gain future personal benefits such as enhanced career, business, and travel opportunities
