Hello, Preston Panthers and welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!! This year will be exciting, challenging, and different than anything we are used to in our lives. The crisis that we all have been facing has affected us all in many different ways. It is more important now more than ever to work together, support and encourage each other, give patience, grace, and understanding freely, and to reach out for help when needed. We ask for your patience and understanding as we traverse the ever changing policies and guidelines in regards to the health and safety of our scholars, staff, and community as a whole. Please know that these policies and guidelines change often and may cause a need for revisions in our schedules and site policies throughout the year. Everyone here at Preston is happy to interact with you daily and we are excited to embark on this journey together!

In the event that San Bernardino County meets the California Department of Public Health COVID-19 guidelines, and schools are allowed to return to campus, you can choose to continue in Distance Learning or transition to our Hybrid Model, which includes on-campus instruction.

Hybrid Learning provides in-person instructional time and learning opportunities for students at school and within their homes allowing the District to comply with social distancing requirements. This will give students an opportunity to seamlessly pivot between a Hybrid Model or a complete virtual Bridge Academy Model, if necessary.

Bridge Academy  means that students attend class, interact with teachers, and complete & submit assignments digitally. Teachers will engage with students through a variety of District supported digital tools, such as Google Classroom. Although the students are not physically in school, school is still in session, and they are expected to participate in daily instruction

**DEADLINE TO COMPLETE SURVEY IS 4:00PM ON DECEMBER 4, 2020 - If you do not make a selection by 4:00 p.m. on December 4, 2020, your student will remain in Distance Learning.

We have launched the Family Engagement Online in order to continue supporting parents and families in our community with our parent education workshops. Many parents and families are experiencing anxiety, stress, and a sense of loneliness and uncertainty. Furthermore, parent now have the additional responsibility of supporting their children with distance learning. Many parents lack the technical skills to help their children. We feel that now more than ever families need to be informed, educated, and engaged while following the established guidelines. Our parent education curriculum has been designed to teach families what they need to know to help their children achieve their full potential!

  • High School BIGS - Application

In this one-to-one peer mentoring program, Preston Elementary School students in 1st through 6th grades are mentored by students from Eisenhower High School. For the 2020-2021 school year, meetings will take place virtually every other week in the afternoon through Zoom. We are excited to continue to provide the High School Bigs program in a time when connection is even more important. Every meeting is facilitated and supported by a bilingual Big Brothers Big Sisters team member and features a curriculum designed specifically for peer-to-peer mentoring.
