CARTER HS Sportsmanship Announcement

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Carter High School for tonight’s basketball game.

All high school sporting events are under the jurisdiction of the CIF Southern Section and the officials are a neutral party assigned by the local CIF-authorized association.  The officials are assigned based upon their experience, training, and demonstrated ability.

Here at Carter High School, “Sportsmanship is an Expectation.  So please let the players play… the coaches coach…  the officials officiate…  and let the spectators be positive.”

Please note that CIF has placed an emphasis on sportsmanship and spectator behavior this year… and has recently passed new bylaws regarding the ejection or removal of spectators, which may include additional bans from future contests.

So please make sure that all of your comments are positive and appropriate.

Carter High School thanks all of you for attending and supporting our high school athletes.  Best of luck to both schools.

All Student-Athletes must undergo a Sports Physical and return the completed Athletic Packet to their coach
