Our Girls basketball team will be having their last home game of the season at 5:30 tonight. We will be honoring our seniors at the last home game Tonight! We hope to see you there!
Wrestling will have its last home meet of the year and honor their seniors Tuesday, January 24th at 5:30
Last, Our girls soccer team will have their last home game of the regular season at 5:30 on Wednesday, January 25th. They will honor their seniors prior to the game. All games are free this week! Come out and support your fellow lions because that's what a Lion does.

Our Winter dance tickets are also on sale. The “Garden of Hearts” dance will be held on February 17th, at 7:00PM
On Wednesday and Thursday, we will be hosting our elective fair during both lunches. If you are interested in AP classes, Avid, Medicine, Visual & Performing Arts, Foreign Languages, JROTC, and more; This is a great opportunity to answer any of your questions and to sign up for classes.
Friday we will host our Winter Blood Drive. All of your donations go to local hospitals to save lives! All plasma donations are eligible for a $25 gift card.Seniors that donate twice in 1 year will be given a blood drive cord for graduation.

On August 3rd, 1990, President George Bush declared the Month of November as National American Heritage Month. This month started as Native American Awareness Week by Cherokee Indian Jerry C Elliot- High Eagle. This Month aims to provide a platform for Native people to share their culture, traditions, music, crafts, dance, and concepts of life.
This year’s Red Ribbon Week theme is Be Brave. Be Drug Free.
Great Job Mrs.Barnes and the entire choir and orchestra student body who performed on Friday at the Nights O’ Frights Fall concert!! The students' efforts did not go unnoticed, as they put on a show to remember! A special thank you to the staff members who came out to support our students!

The Carter Cross Country Team competed in League Finals Saturday at Colton High School. Both the boys and girls team showed up ready to race and ran their best team race of the season. Both teams qualified for CIF and will compete at regional finals at Mount Sac in two weeks.There were many standouts from league finals.
The boys team placed 3rd overall in league qualifying for CIF and had three boys also receive all league honors:
Finishing in 3rd place: Senior, Yahir Salazar
Finishing in 8th place: Senior, Armando Montes de Oca
Finishing in 9th place: Senior, Jonathan Perez
These all league finishers were closely followed by teammates Nathan Obet, Diego Paniagua, Raul Valenzuela and Steven Felix.
The girls team placed 4th overall and qualified for CIF for the first time in Carter History. The top three finishers were:
Junior, Angela Torres
Senior, Mara Carlos
and sophomore Joanna Ruiz
These top finishers were closely followed by teammates Sofia Estrada, Danielle Santos-Nava, Kaitlyn Ruiz and Aneli Cachu.

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Basically teaching you how to calm your thoughts and emotions. Join me in the Wellness Center on Monday's at 8:15 am to try some Mindfulness techniques. Each participant will earn PBIS Reward points. From Athletics:Girls volleyball had an epic match yesterday against Rialto High School in the league tournament semifinals that went 5 sets with the Lady Lions girls coming up short losing 2 to 3 to RHS.
Volleyball plays at home tomorrow against San Gorgonio.
JV starts at 4pm, Varsity to follow at about 515pm.
Cross Country's Yahir Salalzar continues to impress and after his 5 K run this past weekend at Clovis his time moves him to the number 2 position All Time on the school record board.
Cross Country competes today at Tudor Park.

Wednesday, September 28, 2023, will be the last day Carter H.S students will have access to retrieve a free 2022-2023 student ID from the student store. All students have access to the student store daily before school, during lunch, and after school.
Effective Thursday, September 29, 2022, all students will be required to use their 2022-2023 student ID cards to enter campus and attend any Carter H.S home sporting events.

Seniors, join us on a fun field trip to Cal State San Bernardino for an interactive College and Job Fair hosted by Joe Baca. You will have access to workshops, students resources, tools, and information pertaining to college and job opportunities. Please complete the Google Form in your Class of 2023 Google Classroom.
Interested in attending UC Riverside, FIDM, San Bernardino Valley College, CSU Dominguez Hills, UC Irvine or Scripps College? From College and Career:
Dream of attending college? Interested in learning more about how you can receive free money to attend college? Then, join us on Thursday, September 22nd from 4 to 7 pm at the Ontario Convention Center for the Regional College Fair. Participating colleges include, UC's , CSU's, Private Colleges, Trade Schools and Community Colleges. The fair is free and open to all students and their families. For more information check your grade level Google Classroom or pick up a flyer from the Counseling Office.

Hey Lions, do you think you can run, jump, or throw? Or would you like to learn how to? If so, come to the Track & Field team meeting to find out what it takes to be a part of one of the best Track & Field programs in the Inland Empire. The meeting will take place on this Friday, September 23rd afterschool in the amphitheater at 3:45pm.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Girls tennis won their home match yesterday 14 to 4 against Pacific High School. WIth the win the team is now 2 wins and 1 loss on the season.
