On thursday Oct 17th, a select few students were invited to visit the water treatment facilities on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. We were greeted by Joe Phillipy, Chief Operator, Water Operations, who gave us a tour of the facility and his life experience leading up to how he got to working there. The students got an opportunity to check out the different machines, were lectured on how they work, and presented with parts/materials used for the water treatment process. Some more curious than others were able to ask Joe questions regarding the profession. They got a lot of insight on the facility and the career. Afterwards, the students got a light lunch and then were on their way back to school. Below is a slideshow of the trip.
