FOR STUDENTS THAT DO NOT QUALIFY FOR REGULAR OR SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION, OMNITRANS OFFERS A FREE FARES FOR SCHOOL PROGRAM
Rialto Unified School District recognizes the value of having transportation available to our students. Omnitrans has kindly offered to collaborate with our District to bring the Free Fares for School program to students attending Rialto Unified school sites. Starting August 1, 2021, Omnitrans will offer free unlimited rides to students in grades K-12 as part of a six month pilot program. Students attending our schools will have an opportunity to receive a sticker to add to their school identification (ID) card to ride the bus on weekdays and weekends.
***THE FREE FARES FOR SCHOOL PROGRAM HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH THIS SUMMER AND THE 23-24 SCHOOL YEAR***
All students who attend schools within the Omnitrans service area are allowed to show their school ID to ride any Omnitrans fixed-route bus for free any time, any day (including all Omnitrans local and freeway express routes and sbX rapid transit), enabling students to participate in after-school and weekend extracurricular activities. There is no purchase necessary. For information on bus schedules, please visit Omnitrans.org.
This program does not change the District's current transportation program in any way.
