English Learner Plan
The purpose of the Rialto Unified School District Plan for English Learners is to provide clear guidance to District staff regarding full implementation of programs and services for all English Learners. It reflects the Federal, State, and District goals and objectives for English Learners as well as the most recent policy passed by the State Board of Education in the English Learner Roadmap: Strengthening Comprehensive Policies, Programs and Practices for English Learners (CA EL Roadmap).
The English Learner Plan is a guide to assist all schools in providing every identified English Learner an instructional program which includes daily-differentiated English Language Development, integrated ELD and access to the core curriculum.
Please join us in giving commentary and making suggestions to improve our English Learner Plan. We will be hosting input sessions on the following dates for each chapter:
Chapter Two - Curriculum and Equitable Access - Wednesday, October 14th, 3-4 p.m.
Chapter Three - Standards Assessment and Accountability - Thursday, October 15th, 3-4 p.m.
Chapter Five - Parent and Community Involvement - Tuesday, October 20th, 3-4 p.m.
Chapter Six - Basic and Supplemental Resources - Wednesday, November 4th, 3 - 4 p.m.
The following chapters have been reviewed. Meeting will be held to present the chapter and receive feedback.
Chapter One - Initial Identification of English Learners - Tuesday, November 10th, 3 - 4 p.m.
Chapter Four - Staffing and Professional Development - Thursday, October 29th, 3 - 4 p.m.
